INSOMNIUM KICK OFF NORTH AMERICAN TOUR WITH DARK TRANQUILITY AT GRAMERCY THEATRE

Heavy Metal fans experienced a wave of seriously astounding metal bands from Scandinavia in 2014. Now in the first week of 2015, Melodic Death Metal band Insomnium from Joensuu, Finland have made their mark in New York City, beginning their tour with Swedish Metal band Dark Tranquillity at Gramercy Theatre, Sunday, January 5, 2015. Insomnium have fought the long and tough battle in the heavy metal music scene, and have once again delivered to fans their latest eargasm; the April 2014 release of their sixth studio album Shadows of the Dying Sun.
The widely acclaimed album was released under Century Media Records. In support of the new album, Insomnium launched the “Shadows of the Dying Sun European Tour 2014″ in Germany this past October. Listening to the album, it’s easy to feel the deep emotion and dark sound the band threaded into their tracks. The band’s live performance at Gramercy Theatre this past Sunday was the concert chanting fans in NYC were eager for since the album’s release. Opening act and Melodic Death Metal band from Brooklyn, NY, Winter Nights, set the stage for Insomnium and headliners Dark Tranquillity.
Insomnium band members Niilo Sevänen (Vocals/Bass), Ville Friman (Guitars/Vocals), Markus Hirvonen (Drums) and Markus Vanhala (Guitars) have plenty in store for upcoming tour stops for their North American fan base. Fans can find the Shadows of the Dying Sun album on iTunes.
